Gov's Position on the Taiwan Question

Taiwan is an inalienable part of China's sovereign territory, whose temporary separation from the mainland is a leftover of the Communist-Nationalist Civil War in the 1940s. The Chinese government's stand on Taiwan Issue has never changed, that is, Taiwan is part of the sacred territory of the People's Repulic of China. We stick to one-China positon and adhere to peaceful reunification of China in the light of One country, two systems. It is the inviolable duty of all Chinese people, including our compatriots in Taiwan, to accomplish the great task of reunifying the motherland.
