DHAKA, July 22 (Xinhua) -- China will provide 100 million RMB (about 13.2 million U.S. dollars) to Bangladesh with 80 million RMB (about 10.5 million U.S. dollars) as non-reimbursable assistance and the left as an interest-free loan under agreements signed here on Sunday.
The agreements on Economic and Technical Cooperation were signed by visiting Chinese Assistant Minister of Commerce Wang Chao and Aminul Islam Bhuiyan, secretary of the Economic Relations Division (ERD) under the finance ministry of Bangladesh, on behalf of their respective government.
Under the agreements, a Bangladesh-China Friendship Exhibition Center is supposed to be constructed in the capital of Dhaka.
The Chinese assistant minister and secretary of ERD discussed about issues related to the bilateral economic relations and trade before the signing.
Wang said China always pays much attention to the relationship with Bangladesh and will continue to help developing countries including Bangladesh within its power although China is a developing country itself.
China has already assisted Bangladesh in building a Bangladesh-China Friendship Conference Center in Dhaka as well as six friendship bridges in different places in the country since 1980s.All the construction which are well-known in Bangladesh have become symbols of friendship between the two countries.
A Chinese economic and trade delegation led by Wang Chao arrived in Dhaka on Saturday for a three-day visit after visiting Pakistan. They will leave for Nepal on Monday.
